On May 3-6th the town of Grand Rivers Kentucky will be going to the dogs, literally. Over 300 Yorkies from all over the world will be invading Grand Rivers and surrounding Kentucky Lake. This will be a great community event and bring great revenue to our area. Our hotel, Patti’s Inn and Suites and our Bed and Breakfast are both full along with several campgrounds.
Patti’s Settlement is very excited to accommodate 200+ guests with their “fur babies” for the 4 day event. Skipper Neuzigler with the help of myself, Ann Martin, Marketing Director of Patti’s, have put together this event to raise money (with the help of Dr Flanery) for the no-kill animal shelter. The Benton Woman’s Club will host its 3rd annual Puttin on the Mitz at the Kentucky Dam Village Convention Center on February 4, 2017 in support of the Marshall County Exceptional Center.
This year’s theme is New Orleans Style. Festivities will kick off at 5:30 with a “meet and greet” social hour, where guests have the opportunity to have their pictures taken by well-known, local photographer, Gwen Moss. Also, during the pre-event activities, they will be entertained by the Marshall County High School Jazz Band.
Dinner, dance and auction are slated to begin at 7:00 PM with a buffet provided by local businesses featuring chicken and andouille gumbo.

Join us for an educational session that provides valuable information about late stage dementia and end-of-life care. Guest presenter will be Dr. Whisman of Hospice of the Bluegrass along with other expert panelists. This program is offered through an interactive telemedicine system to connect with persons who are impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. This event is free and open to the public.
