Wheels from the Past Car Club hosts weekly cruise nights at 5 p.m. Thursdays at the Edgewater Greene Turtle, 3213 Solomons Island Road.
Owners of classic, vintage and muscle cars are welcome to attend the free gathering. Wheels from the Past is a nonprofit club that gives all its proceeds to charity, said member Joe Scalley.
For the past three years, Wheels from the Past Car Club has donated to the Autism Society.
This year, the club donated $3,500 to the Autism Society from its our annual Labor Day weekend car show.
‘Cheers for Volunteers’
The Anne Arundel County Volunteer Center holds its inaugural Cheers for Volunteers fundraising event at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at Renditions Golf, 1380 Central Ave. in Davidsonville.
Attendees will enjoy wine tastings from five different regions around the world, hors d’oeuvres and games with prizes. A silent travel auction, which will include trips for two (airfare included and no blackout dates) to Tuscany, France, Costa Rica and Spain.

Proceeds will help support the AACVC, whose mission it is to inspire, strengthen and improve the community of Anne Arundel County by supporting non-profits, coordinating volunteers, and building coalitions with local businesses, according to a news release.
Ham and oyster supper
Friendship United Methodist Church, 22 W. Friendship Road, will host a ham and oyster supper from 3 to 6 p.m. Nov. 4. The menu includes baked ham, fried oysters, homemade potato salad, creamy cole slaw, green beans, biscuits, coffee, iced tea and water.
Cost is $22 for adults, $10 for ages 6 to 11 and free for those ages 5 and younger. Pie is $2 per slice. Carryout is also available.
