BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — The Michigan State Police issued an Endangered Missing Advisory Wednesday for two children who were last seen in Battle Creek.
Authorities are looking for 7-year-old Bentley Dunkelberger and 9-year-old Karley Dunkelberger, who are likely in the company of their parents, Dennis and Rebecca Dunkelberger. Police believe they may have left the state of Michigan.
The children were last seen on Bruce Avenue near Snow Avenue, which is off of Michigan Avenue.
They were last seen driving a black 2013 Kia Sorento with a Michigan license plate of 4LUZ90.
Authorities say the parents have a history of drug use, that the mother has schizophrenia and that both parents have violent tendencies when together.
Bentley is described as being 3-feet-8-inches tall and 46 pounds with curly brown hair. He wears glasses and speaks with a stutter, police say.
Karley is described as being 3-feet-10-inches tall and 61 pounds with long blonde, curly hair, clothing. She is diagnosed with autism, police say.
Earlier Wednesday, the Battle Creek began searching for the children because existing court orders weren’t being followed, and the welfare of the children needed to be checked.
