Russia will continue to support the opening of communications in the South Caucasus. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, at the weekly press briefing on Wednesday.

"We welcome the intensification of activities by the trilateral working group co-chaired by the deputy prime ministers [of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan] aimed at unblocking economic and transport ties in the South Caucasus," Zakharova said.

She recalled that a regular meeting of this working group was held on June 3, the parties had clarified their positions on a number of issues, and that these debates had continued within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 16-17.

As for the details of the activities, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry advised to ask this question to the co-chairs of the working group.
