MBTA, kids on autism spectrum unite for PSAs
APRIL. IS AUTISM ACCEPTANCE MONTH, AND THE MBTA IS HELPING SPREAD AWARENESS BY EMPOWERING CHILDREN ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM. SO GENERAL MANAGER PHIL NG MET WITH MORE THAN 20 KIDS AND THEIR FAMILIES AT THE T’S OPERATIONS CONTROL CENTER IN CELEBRATION OF THEIR INAUGURAL AUTISM TRANSIT PROJECT. SO THE PROGRAM ALLOWS THE KIDS TO CREATE PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS THAT WILL PLAY IN TRAIN STATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. SO THE ANNOUNCEMENTS WILL HIGHLIGHT TIPS ON HOW TO SAFELY GET ON AND OFF TRAINS, OFFERING SEATS TO OTHERS, AND REMEMBERING TO BE KIND WHILE RIDING THE T HERE ARE A FEW OF THE ANNOUNCEMENTS THEY RECORDED TODAY. YOU CAN’T WATCH VIDEOS WHEN DRIVING, BUT YOU CAN ON MBTA TRAINS JUST PLEASE BE A GOOD TRANSIT RIDER AND WEAR HEADPHONES. MY ANNOUNCEMENT IS UM, STAND. UM. The MBTA is helping to spread awareness by empowering children on the autism spectrum with series of PSAs.General manager Phil Eng met with more than 20 kids and their families at the T's Operations Control Center in celebration of their inaugural Autism Transit Project. The program allows the children to create public service announcements that will play in train stations across the country.The announcements will highlight tips on how to safely get on and off of trains, offering seats to others, and remembering to be kind while riding the T.
