Digital platform launched for autism management

Published - April 13, 2025 07:42 pm IST - Bengaluru

To transform the special needs support ecosystem by offering a comprehensive, data-driven, and collaborative approach to autism management, a Bengaluru-based start-up launched a mobile application in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The mobile application Krivi.ai has emerged from personal experience and an understanding of the current gaps in the special needs ecosystem by founders of Ability Advocacy, the start-up.

After their son was diagnosed with autism, the founders — Shivendra Upadhyay and his wife Bibha Kumari — came up with the idea of developing a mobile application that can empower the enablers to focus on the child and not just the operational stuff.

The application is a centralised hub that connects parents, therapy centres, therapists, educators, and researchers, streamlining communication and simplifying operational complexities. The platform provides a collaboration platform that fosters shared objective alignment and goal tracking alongside multi-directional dependency mapping, clearly illustrating the dependency impact on shared milestones.

“Different studies in India suggest that one in 68 children (0-17 years) have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The prevalence is concerning and we need innovative solutions to fight this,” said Mr. Upadhyay at the launch.

“By eliminating operational overheads and offering intelligent, evidence-based tools, we are shifting the ecosystem from reactive to proactive. By centralising data and insights around autistic children, we are empowering parents, special educators, and stakeholders to collaborate more effectively by bringing synergy — so every child gets the support they deserve,” he said.

“By bringing all stakeholders within one circle and facilitating real-time communication, the platform leverages Krivi buddy, a conversational AI for instant support, while also streamlining appointment and session management to efficiently schedule and track therapy sessions in one place,” he added.
