EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — El Paso recognised high school seniors across the city who have decided to enlist in the United States Armed Services after graduation.
The celebration was hosted on a Facebook Live event in partnership with a nonprofit called Our Community Salutes.
OCS is an organization helping communities recognize, honor and support high school seniors interested in enlisting in the U.S. Armed Services.
The nonprofit also provides enlistees and their parents with guidance, information, resources and community support while transitioning into the military.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to commend the young men and women who have made the selfless and brave decision to put their country first,” said the City of El Paso’s Chief Military Officer, Paul Albright. “Our Community Salutes also pays tribute to the parents and guardians who are saying goodbye for now to their child and loved ones before they embark on a new journey.”
